In February the first ever Tyne versus Tees Poetry Slam took place at the Arc in Stockton, it was a close fought battle between ten of the North East’s top poetry Slammers. In the end Teesside clinched the trophy after a nail biting final between Sky Hawkins and Mike Edwards.

It was a fabulous night and Northern Echo’s Craig Lenaghan said “all the performers were winners, proving that live poetry could easily match football for trendy, competitive entertainment.” Read the full review
