Slamming is back on Monday September 12th from our summer break. Slam poetry is fast, exciting and great fun. This time it is an Open Slam and anyone can take part. All you need is a maximum of five poems, no longer than three minutes. Our judges vote and we eliminate the lowest scores and we keep slamming until only one poet remains. The winner gets a BIG MONEY cash prize of thirty pounds plus a fantastic trophy letting the world know they are “The All Comers Cinema Slam Champion 2011” To enter or to find out more: email Jeff Price at jeffprice@radiaklwords.com
Plus Plus Plus…. Thanks to the support of Apples and Snakes we have a Special Guest Kenny Baraka was born in Eritrea, raised in New York and now residing in London. He is an poet, author, journalist, lyricist, lecturer, songwriter and teacher, Kenny brings his charismatic brand of street-smart poetry to the Tyneside Cinema. His most recent recording effort, a spoken word album entitled Conversations With The Yout’ was recognised by the English Poetry Book Society as one of the country’s best spoken word records of the year.
