A multi media artists collaboration

WMDJ are Photographer Peter Dixon, Poet Tom Kelly and musician/producer Steve Thompson. Together they have produced a multi media work called “Voices”.

“Voices” looks at the dislocation within society as we move into the 21st century has led to many not having a voice. This multi media project captures the voices of the disaffected and life on the other side of the billboard hoarding. Today, where technology is omnipresent, and talk of portfolio building is paramount, these voices have been abandoned.

“All three are from the area and have a long lineage of work relating to the north-east. VOICES‚ is what they call their project, one that is very close to their hearts. He (Thompson) … provides the soundscapes that build this evocative and moving multimedia piece. My favourite track is End or Beginning that has a (Gas-telephone-electricity) mantra that’s as infectious as any pop song I’ve heard lately.
