Poetry Slamming is like crossing X factor with performance poetry. It is fast and furious and full of high energy as the slammers battle to impress the judges in only three minutes.

We have gathered together two teams of the best slam poets the North East can muster to entertain and delight ARC audiences. From Teesside we have Bob Beagrie and Andy Willoughby, Jo Colley and Mike Edwards. Newcastle is represented by Scott Tyrrell, Steve Urwin Sky Hawkins, Jenni Pascoe and James Oates There is a trophy for the winning team and the title of ARC Poetry Slam Champion 2011.
