The Polite Room
June 7th (and every first Sunday of the month thereafter)
The Bridge Hotel presents…
The Polite Room
An evening of singer songwriters, clever lyricists, storytellers & performance poetry.
Sunday June 7th features: Ian Hunter, Benjamin Edward Holland and Nev Clay (and a mystery poet!)
Ian Hunter has played only a handful of gigs but has already gained a reputation as one of Newcastle’s finest lyricists. Influenced by Bob Dylan and Neil Young, Ian sings immaculately observed vignettes of life growing up, living, working and loving in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Benjamin Edward Holland writes songs about people: Goths, stalkers, pirates but also Twister (the game for up to four persons).
Nev Clay is somewhat of a local legend. A rambling raconteur, equally adept at making you laugh or cry with his poignant, jazz infused songs. If you’ve seen him before you’ll know what to expect.. if you haven’t then don’t miss this opportunity to see him in The Polite Room. A rare treat indeed.
The mystery poet is such a mystery that at the time of sending this out not even The Polite Room knew for sure who it would be… now that IS mysterious. Be not afraid though, a poet there shall be…
