Great News………… The Cumberland Arms have delayed their building work. This means the next Ten by Ten will be at our usual venue.
To celebrate our stay of execution we have a fantastic line-up which includes our very own poet from the wireless…Kate Fox. Returning by popular request we have the inspirational words of Gerard Rudolf. Simma will reading from his amazing new poetry book “Last Night I Married the Audience”.
Mandy Maxwell is a poet who always delivers; her work is insightful and inventive and not to be missed. Nikki Hawkins has found a new voice and she wants to share it with the Ten by Ten audience. I am still getting fan mail about Alfie Crow’s amazing performance at the Lyrical Slam, here is a chance to hear his own amazing work.
Zebra editor Jeff Price has a clutch of new poems on subjects as varied as dreaming about Madonna and the ghost of a dead husband. Robbie Hurst has extracts from a new piece of work that he hopes will soon be the basis of a short film.
New to Ten by Ten stage we have Sean Kelly. Sean has recently moved to the North East and is a film maker and writer. We have music from the Mucle drum played by Simon Wood. I heard him recently at Pink Lane Poetry and it was the most amazing sound I have heard since Dylan went electric.
They each have ten minutes to give you their all…Spoken word at its best from the cream of the North East performance poetry scene.
Don’t be late we start at eight…
