Ten by Ten is a regular night for poets, spoken word artists, performance poets, writers and singer songwriters. Every month ten people, have ten minutes each, to showcase their work in front of a warm and appreciated audience at the Cumberland Arms in Byker Newcastle England.

Ten by Ten has been running for over three years and in that time the stage at the Cumberland has seen an amazing breath of work from established and new writers. We are proud to say we have given many their first opportunity to have their work performed in public and we have supported and encouraged established writers to experiment with new work, form and styles.

To celebrate the success of Ten by Ten, Zebra Publishing commissioned an anthology of work from Ten by Ten writers. We asked them to write a poem on the theme of Ten. Each writer could send in up to three poems and we picked the best of them for this book. A total of sixty seven writers have contributed to this anthology. At the launch you will hear many of them perform these specially commissioned poems for the first time.
