A big thanks to everyone who turned up at the Cinema Slam. Kate Fox was a worthy winner of our first Slam but the competition was fantastic and it was a close call in the final round. The next Cinema Slam at the Tyneside Cinema will be on Monday May 10th. It is an open slam so anyone can enter. We want 16 poets and all you will need is a maximum of five poems, each should be your own work and none more than three minutes long. Email me at jeff@zebrapublishing.co.uk to register.
Our webmaster Neil Atkinson has been working his magic and we now have video clips on our website. Have a look at www.zebrapublishing.co.uk.
The line up for April is not fully confirmed but so far we have Joe Hakim up from Hull and is the first of our exchanges with other poetry venues in the North. We have Viv Wiggins and our very own Annie Moir on stage. We have writer Simon Van De Velde and South African poet Ndukuyakhe Ndlovu making their first appearance on the Ten by Ten stage alongside Danielle Quist and John Maguire. Plus we have the return of Asit Maitra reading from his new book Knife on the Edge.
Finally Kate Fox, Alfie Crow and Jeff Price are involved in an exciting new project. You can find our more by visiting www.radikalwords.com
Don’t be late we start at eight…
