Newcastle confirms its status as ‘The Capital of Taking Poetry Seriously’ (Ruth Padel) by welcoming France-based Pulitzer Prize-wining poet CK Williams to campus to read from his work on National Poetry Day.
Williams has published eight collections of poetry and his many honours and awards include the National Book Critics Circle Award. At the event we will also be screening new poetry films based on the work of local poets Elizabeth Whyman and Deborah Buchan.
