Men of the Tyne
Another date added!
Wednesday October 12th @ 1.30. Board the boat, at the Customs House.
MEN OF TYNE consists of four new songs, written with Ian Ravenscroft, and four short monologues I have written which will be performed by actor and Customs House Director, Ray Spencer. In addition there will be a showing of the MEN OF TYNE film by Andrew Hagan.
The performances and film are the culmination of the ‘Men of the Tyne’ project interviewing men who have worked on the river Tyne. A project Andrew Hagan and I have really enjoyed.
And here’s a link to the Customs House site if you would like to book tickets.
You will need to be quick. And I know you will be. Tickets are only £7.50: a river trip, tea, cakes and performances.

And here’s the lyric to the song you can find if you follow the link.
Ghosts on the Tyne
What’s past is past
That’s what they say
You can’t go back
To yesterday.
The trouble is
The more I live
The more I see
Believe me:
Ghosts on the Tyne
There all the time
Ghosts on the Tyne
BRIDGE
Looking at tomorrow
A foot in yesterday
Not looking back in sorrow
Let the past have its say.
Ghosts on the Tyne
There all the time
Ghosts on the Tyne
MUSICAL BREAK
Past is alive
not behind glass
this history
is not second class.
See cargo boats
Line-upon-line
heading to sea
Believe me:
Ghosts on the Tyne
There all the time
Ghosts on the Tyne
BRIDGE MUSICAL BREAK
Ghosts on the Tyne
There all the time
Ghosts on the Tyne x 3
Lyrics: Tom Kelly
Music: Ian Ravenscroft
