Jo Colley
Local poet – goes online…
Darlington based writer/poet Jo Colley has embraced the digital era by participating in a new short film scheme led by Arts Council England, North East.
On taking part in the scheme, Jo said, ‘Being able to tell a story about my work through a short film, enables me to reach a wider audience and publicise my poetry films at the same time. Having funding from the Arts Council enables me to try new things, while at the same time get on with my work.’
This short film features writer/poet Jo Colley talking about her life, work and the Read Regional event at Central Station in Newcastle. She also reads a piece of her poetry and talks about the vibrant literature scene in the North East.
Jo’s film is one of the first commissioned by Arts Council England, North East. Working with funded artists and arts organisations, the Arts Council will highlight the excellent work across all art forms which is supported in the North East. This new scheme is directly linked to the Arts Council priority on digital opportunities.
