The next Free as a Bard event is on Sunday February 6th at The Trojan Rooms,

POETS
Aidan Halpin – A former member of the Poetry Vandals, Aidan has more recently been collaborating on a pamphlet with Kevin Cadwallender. He has read poetry in various parts of the UK, Prague, Berlin and New York; but mostly Byker.
Sheree Mack – Lives in Tynemouth and works as a freelance writer and artist within the North East. She has recently completed her doctorate in black British women’s poetry and creative writing.
Lesley Mountain – Has two pamphlet collections – “Hunting the Air” (Vane Women) and hot off the presses “Dance of the Disappointed” (Red Squirrel).
James Oates – Has a solo collection in print (‘Wideyback’, RSP-2007), was East Durham writer of the year 1997 and appeared in the Radio 4 Poetry Slam semi-finals 2009 representing the north east. Currently working on a Poetry/Art collections with EDAN.
MUSICIANS
Maurice Sutherst – Signed to Red Straw Records / Publishing, his latest CD “Touch the Sky” features 10 original songs available on CD and download from Itunes Amazon Tunecore.
David Venus – Has performed at a number of local venues including the City Hall, the Baltic, and Sunderland Empire. Although mainly an instrumentalist, he has a strong interest in local music and includes a number of local songs in his repertoire.
